Me|thyl|pro|pa|nol [↑ "Propanol"] mit ↑ "Butanol" isomere Alkohole:1) 2-Methylpropan-1-ol; nicht mehr empfohlene Syn.: Isobutanol, Isobutylalkohol: (H3C)2CH—CH2OH; farblose, brennbare Fl., Sdp. 108 °C, die als Lsgm. u. zur Herst. von Estern benutzt wird;
2) 2-Methylpropan-2-ol; Syn.: tert-Butylalkohol, (falsch, weil es kein tert-Butan gibt:) tert-Butanol: (H3C)3C—OH; farblose, leicht entflammbare krist. Verb., Smp. 26 °C, die als Lsgm. u. für Treibstoffadditive sowie zur Einführung der tert-Butylgruppe in org. Verb. gebraucht wird.
